By late April the ski area is less expensive, uncrowded, and provides for a perfect day of mid-morning skiing followed by a game of golf, fishing or mountain biking. If snowboarding is you thing Mammoth has a 11,053 foot summit, and 3,500 acres of rideable terrain. An average snowfall of 400 inches allows for riding and exploring natural hits, gullies, heart-pumping steep chutes, wide-open bowls, tree riding and wide-open cruisers. Snowboarding is allowed on 100% of the mountain.
