Southern Colorado Ski Resorts

Southern It's generally the same story when you compare the size of skate parks in Colorado to the park in Laramie. Denver's main skate park is utterly massive in comparison to the one in Laramie. While the parks in Silverthorne and Breckenridge are much smaller than the one in Denver, they, too, are larger than Laramie's park.

The mountain is amazing, but what really makes the experience are the guides. Most are men but there are some tough women. I learned very quickly that you should trust your guide at all times. One, because this will keep you safe, but more importantly it will get you to the best snow. It hadn't snowed in two weeks when I went this year, yet we were still finding light fluffy Colorado snow. At one point we were riding a ridge with sixty mile per hour gusts of wind threatening to blow us off our boards. I was whimpering and crying a little but the wind was so loud no one could hear me. Just before I was about to call my guide, a madman, he dropped us into a wind protected field of powder. I quickly wiped the tears from my eyes and put a smile on face. Lesson learned: Trust your guide!
