Winter Hiking Killington Peak

Winter Hiking Killington Peak

WinterThe next day, after another wonderful complimentary breakfast, we packed up and left for Bennington. The route that Steve chose took us through some of the worst hit areas. We were concerned that we'd experience some road closures, but that wasn't the case. We did hit some areas with pilot cars and delays, but we weren't in any hurry.

Seeing all these coaches and wagons made me wonder what it was like to travel in a time when there were no automobiles. Travel was slow, for sure, and probably not very comfortable. One of the wagons had a woodstove inside the carriage!

Well, it wasn't exactly a banner hiking year for me. I blame myself, but also my work schedule and the weather. The hikes I did do were unique in their own ways. I did get a chance to hike a different loop on Camel's Hump, partake in views from the top of Mt Abraham, and hike up a volcanic crater in a totally different climate.
